not the greatest day - 7/25

so at 115 yesterday morning, jimmy woke up with some horrible gas pains. well, obviously we assumed they were gas pains, how the hell would we know, since he can't tell us. anyway, he screamed something awful for about an hour and a half and we played the what-can-we-do-for-you-please-stop-screaming-before-we-jump-out-a-window game. mylicon, bicycling his legs, nothing worked until finally everything worked and he fell asleep. from what i can recall, he then slept until about 545, woke up, ate, went back to sleep and was up again for the day at around 8-9. he then slept from 950-1040, at which point he woke up and played the screaming gas pain game again until about 1145-12, then he slept for 3 hours, thank god. he then proceeded to play the catnap game from 5-530, 6-640, and so on, then was awake and cranky until 940 when he fell asleep and stayed asleep until 310am. then he ate and laid down in his bassinet but wouldn't really deeply sleep because my swaddle had been less than perfect. aargh. finally at 540, i swaddled the hell out of him and brought him downstairs to sleep in his swing. and sleep he did, until about 815, when he woke up and ate and has been in a great mood ever since. let's see what the day brings.......

oh yeah, the scheduling thing

our first schedule blog

last night jimmy slept from 850 pm to 220 am, then ate and slept from 245 am to basically 530 or 6, i can't remember. but at 530 he just took the pacifier and went back to sleep. a fitful sleep, but sleep nonetheless. i then went to work at 7 and james said he was up until 850, then slept until 1030. we dropped james off at the train station then he fell asleep and slept from 1145 to 210pm. now he is in his swing, after waking himself up for god only knows what reason, sitting peacefully fighting his afternoon nap. sigh. more later i suppose.

8 weeks old & going strong

i thought it was time we got ourselves a blog. mostly because i can't keep facts straight in my head anymore and i can't remember anything so how else is this kid going to know the crap he put us through when he was a bebe? i kid, i kid. i'd like to establish a routine for jimmy and in order to do that, i need to try to record his schedule as it is now. on that note, he is about to awaken as he has just freed one hand from his swaddle. and so it begins.........
